It’s not everyday that you’re given the opportunity to give feedback on a screenplay that’s going into production, let alone something as awesome as a zombie musical! And from what I’ve seen so far, it’s going to entertain the socks off anyone who watches it.

If you’re a fan of Dr. Horrible’s Sing-along Blog or the musical episode of Buffy: the Vampire Slayer (-and honestly, who isn’t?) then you’re going to LOVE this film. The story is fun, and the songs are sooo catchy!

I thoroughly enjoyed the staged reading of the new screenplay Let’s Sing… There’s Zombies Outside! which was ‘performed’ live by a great cast of young actors as part of Supanova Brisbane’s Director’s Day festivities.

The screenplay was written by Australian filmmakers Candice and Mark Deere, who scored a development grant through the Queensland’s Writer’s Room Initiative. The project is currently being produced by Glenn Wilkinson.

Members of the production team were there to collect audience feedback on the screenplay reading, so we could assist them in making the best zombie-movie-musical possible. I thought it was pretty great so far, and I look forward to hearing more about the project as it’s developed.

P.S. in the questionnaire they asked if we’d like to be an extra on the film. To which I replied HELL YES 🙂

P.S.S. Above, is about 17 seconds of footage from the staged reading. Apologies for the crappy quality and shortness in length, I wasn’t sure if I was allowed to film it, but I wanted to at least give a sneak peak into how catchy the tunes are 🙂
