Scene One:
ANZ Stadium, Brisbane (Apparently Michael Jackson played here once…)
The Speech I was meant to say:
“Hi, I’m Melinda Maxfield. I am a networker, uni student and soon-to-be author. Jenny and Arthur are amazing business mentors. They have repeatedly gone out of their way to help me, and this has included driving up from the Gold Coast to Brisbane twice a week to counsel me while helping me to start my team. They are awesome and I really appreciate everything they’ve done for me…”
(Now I am on stage, I notice that among those giving me a standing ovation are 30+ multi-millionaires sitting in the front row, followed by half a team of really hot looking professional footballers (Gold Coast Titans) whom I’ve previously only seen on TV…)
So, What I said instead:
“I have no idea what it was I was going to say… but I’m really excited to be here!!”
(Cheering and wild applause!)
…and off goes giggly Mel to find the nearest Toastmasters meeting…
